The app please ❤
what is the interactive app. you used with this group of children?
She should have more respect for the boy with yellow t-shirt. She was asking him and the boy was answering and at the same time asking to the girl with green hat. The boy answered the question correctly and she did not complement the boy because she was distracted. Shame on her.
they have different goals she's addressing. the boy knows the answer but the girl doesn't so she wants to address that. she's also a grad student here so still learning. you're super rude and probably couldn't do better.
I think if you give her visual cue by making her look at your face n see how it's pronounced, then she will get the idea of the place and manner of articulation.
What app did you use for the interactive storyt?
I would love to do this as a career. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
thank you for your teaching
She is sweet with the kids. I hope to be as good as you!
But I love your videos
It's too easy 😂 can you make it a little bit longer and hard enough
What app are you using? Great session btw!
Data collection?
What was the name of the app you used in this therapy session?
hey, I was considering changing my major from early childhood to psychology and then getting a masters in speech pathology, I was wondering about your process of joining this profession. Thank you for sharing.
I'm trying to do the same exact thing right now, same majors and everything actually, and would also be very interested in the best way to do it!
i hope she replies! let me know if you find out anything else please!
Hi there! I actually have an undergraduate in speech-language pathology and went straight into my master's. But I do know a lot of people who have a bachelor's degree in another background and still have great success in getting a master's in speech. In my experience, it does not matter too much what your bachelor's degree is in.....what they will really look at when you apply is your GPA, GRE or GMAT scores (depending on the institution), and your letters of recommendation. I hope this helps!
thank you so much!!!!
Your welcome!!
Thanks for sharing!
This is so sweet to see :)
Thank you!
This is great, thanks for sharing. If anyone is interested in using an app for articulation but they or their students only have access to android devices check out Speech Essentials for articulation. You can see it here: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speechessentials.speechessentials
Brittany, how do you keep data during these sessions.
the little girl I think that has less attention ..I say this because while no has been some kind of developmental disorder ( autism ) hyperactivity of her becomes clear !! it would be something that can itself be employed ( with the same activity) While the other children make an effort . It is just my opinion :) I'm not an expert-specific . But according to the comment of the women Katie Hnkinks .. video was very helpful !! I like the way you approach the children ..You are so sweet.. encourage and calm !! schools required to have specialist teachers like you !! with absolute respect !!! keep it up nicely :)
Thank you!
Hello, I am a video curator for videos.real.com and real.com. I enjoyed your video, and am seeking permission to post it on our site. We would link to your original video if desired. Hope to speak to you soon. Thanks!
Just started out with this age group. This is a great video! Saw a few of your others.. p.s. congrats on the Best Wedding Ever. Wish you had more videos! Inspiring =)
Jennifer, thank you for the feedback! This is when I was a graduate student, and I currently work with adults and geriatrics in the hospital, post acute rehab, and SNF environments. I have thought about making more videos, but it is so hard to get through all of the steps to allow us to video patients/students that it really goes on the back burner. Thank you very much though :)
Brittany Janowski I'm a current grad student. How do you like working in the SNF versus school setting? :)
I loved the SNF for the most part, but there are some where I would have not been happy. My favorite work environment is long term acute care, hands down.
reminds me when I was little and danced with my dad
This is really interesting! I'm thinking about becoming an SLP and this video was very helpful. What app were you using? (Also, the app Articulation Station looks really cool if you want to investigate it!)
I'm a SLP that currently works with the adult population. This video was made was an assignment when I was a student. It is centered more around the traditional approach to articulation therapy - as the professor tended to gravitate towards this method.
Are you a SLP or SLPA and what type of Therapy method is that? Was it Van Riper's Traditional Approach or McDonald's Sensory-Motor Approach?
Hello! I am an SLP and this it the Van Riper's Traditional Approach.
Omg, I just put a video up of my 1 year old playing the Kinect too. Isnt it just adorable? lol
Agreed!
I like how you put this together. One of the better ones I have seen posted on you tube.
Nice job on the video, remember not to add a vowel sound to the consonants in issolation such as saying /fa/ instead of /f/
